How these times are calculated

Ja'fari method (Shia Ithna-Ashari, Leva Institute, Qum): Fajr when the sun is 16° below the horizon, Maghrib at 4° below the horizon (after the eastern redness disappears), Isha at 14°, and Asr when an object's shadow equals its length plus its noon shadow. At high latitudes, where the sun does not reach these angles, a proportion of the night is used instead. Times are rounded to the nearest minute.

Jurists differ on how Islamic midnight is calculated. By default it is halfway between sunset and Fajr; you can change this in Settings. Settings

Calculated times are estimates. Local mosques may add precautionary minutes. Follow the rulings of your marja.
